Valley Christian Preschool is a ministry of Valley Community Presbyterian Church and a celebrated resource within our SW Portland and Raleigh Hills community. We embrace childhood by encouraging each child to discover the world through hands-on learning and the richness of open-ended play. Serving children ages 2-5, we model and teach Christian faith principles such as love, patience, kindness, compassion, self control, and forgiveness. All together, this creates a solid foundation for a child’s formal education and a love of learning in the years to come.
Our teachers skillfully prepare and facilitate play-based learning environments appropriate for child-initiated exploration. In an atmosphere of love and acceptance modeled by God’s unconditional love, the children develop self-esteem as well as confidence in their place in the group. Families are supported by our philosophy of sharing God’s love, resulting in a community where we work together to create a wonderful place for children to thrive.
We are recognized by the national Quality Rating & Improvement System (QRIS) for excellence in meeting essential standards that support quality early learning for all children.
Valley Christian Preschool welcomes students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin, and religious background.
Valley Christian Preschool’s lead teachers are certified and trained in Early Childhood Education. Each staff member is knowledgeable in areas relating to child development, participating each year in professional development to increase our knowledge base. Please find teacher photos and biographies under class descriptions.
Our Christian values are expressed in our genuine love of children.

Following her marketing career, Anne held the position of Co-Director and Administrator for the Portland Upward Christian Basketball League and brings much experience working with families and building strong children’s programs. Anne is a member at Valley Community Presbyterian Church and has served on the Personnel Committee and as a Deacon.
“Valley Christian Preschool has continuously been one of the premiere preschool options in the Portland area and I am proud to be a part of the program. The preschool years are pivotal for children and it is an honor and a priority to ensure these years are affirming and fun-filled for children and their families. Many of my own family’s life-long friendships began with the families we met during our children’s preschool years.” -Anne
