At Valley Christian Preschool, we offer a number of different volunteer opportunities. We hope you find these teams an inviting way to get involved at a level that is comfortable for you. We have a wonderful school and we are proud to be part of such a gifted and caring group.

For a list of opportunities during the 2018-2019 school year, please look here.

Room Parents

Two representatives from each classroom serve as room parents. The room parents are the go-to people for the class. They are THE key resource to teachers, assisting with communications and special projects.  This team is also responsible for teacher appreciation and assisting with party planning, and the teachers and director have lots of resources to help you.

Fund-Raising Team

The fund-raising team is responsible for fund-raising events.  This year we are emphasizing our large motor-skills equipment and our scholarship fund.  We are always open to fresh ideas.

Parents Outreach Team

This group commits to praying for those in need and for each of the young lives in our care, and is also responsible for preparing, planning and executing activities that allow the preschool to give back to our community. A few examples of our outreach recipients in the past were Oregon Food Bank, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and World Vision.  We often support causes in conjunction with Christmas and Easter.

Classroom Volunteers

Dependent upon teachers’ needs, these volunteers may assist in classrooms and help with preparation of activities for students, (such as cutting shapes, making booklets, creating bulletin boards, etc.).  The Volunteer Handbook can be viewed and downloaded here:  VCP Volunteer Handbook

Family Involvement

Extended family, as well as parent involvement, is welcomed and encouraged. Taking part in your child’s education benefits your child as well as you. We learn and grow as a community, adults and children together. There are no required time commitments, and we offer a variety of ways to get involved.

“I feel lucky to have found such a warm, loving and welcoming preschool.”
